-To facilitate personnel and visit exchange and research collaboration of both sides in a wide spectrum of S. & T.;

-To promote potential technical and economic cooperation between China and Canada with a special focus of BC technology transfer to China;

-To assist, specifically, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST) and the Science Council of British Columbia (SCBC) in the implementation of the initiatives under the cooperative Memorandum renewed in February 2001
